What is Direct on Instagram? For some, the word “Direct” means Yandex's advertising platform, and sometimes there's confusion: the personal messaging system inside Instagram is also called that. 

Instagram originally emerged as a social network with the simplest functions and interface. Private messages (Direct) in it are also arranged easier than, for example, Vkontakte or Facebook. There is no message forwarding function, the ability to attach photos and videos is limited.
